How to Download Instagram Reels and Photos on PC or Mac
Downloading Instagram content isn't just a phone task — it works just as well from a desktop or laptop, and for some use cases (design work, presentations, larger-screen viewing) it's actually more convenient. Here's how to do it properly on Windows or Mac.
Step 1: Get the Link From Instagram's Website
Since Instagram's desktop website doesn't have a dedicated "copy link" button as obviously placed as the mobile app, here's the reliable way:
1. Go to instagram.com and log in
2. Open the Reel, photo, or post you want
3. Click the three-dot menu (•••) near the post
4. Select Copy Link
If the three-dot menu isn't visible, right-click directly on the post and choose Copy Link Address as an alternative — this works in most browsers as a fallback.
Step 2: Paste Into the Downloader

Step 3: Find Your Downloaded File
On Windows: files typically save to `Downloads` in File Explorer, unless you've changed your browser's default download folder in settings.
